Angelina Cappiello
Publisher, CEO, Editor-in-Chief
Angelina Cappiello is the Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of Preferred Health Magazine (PHM), a journal dedicated to health, wellness, intriguing celebrity health-related interviews, top physician profiles, mental health topics, and advancements in medical treatments. It is Angelina's mission to help readers make better- informed decisions about their health.
Angelina’s Successful career began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism, from St. John’s University. Excited to begin life as a reporter, she entered her journalism career just one month shy of the tragic events of 9/11. Thrown into a world turned upside down by terrorism, fear, and uncertainty, Angelina witnessed and reported on the tragedy and personal accounts of all those effected by the historic event. As a reporter, she’s interviewed some of New York’s prominent leaders including Mayor Rudolph Guiliani, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, and several first responders and emergency workers in and around New York’s Metropolitan area. She has also interviewed the likes of former President Bill Clinton, NBA star Marcus Camby, Model Heidi Klum, and several business and corporate executives.
In 2017, she created Preferred Health Magazine and swiftly garnered a following within the healthcare industry. With vast knowledge and strong ties with key members of the media – PHM was able to achieve a strong following of health enthusiasts, news reporters, and public relations firms. Angelina’s ability to obtain captivating interviews with top celebrities, physicians, and experts on topics of health, beauty, diet, and exercise, making PHM the best source for all things healthy living.
At PHM, Angelina has featured interviews with the like of Deepak Chopra, Larry King, Fran Drescher, Montel Williams, Jennifer Beals, Sharon Gless, and many other notable celebrities and top doctors.
Angelina's spin-off Podcast Show, “Talking Points with Preferred Health Magazine” allows followers a first-hand look or listen, to these interviews that get to the heart of every health concern - allowing its authenticity to shine through.
Michael Fanesi
CFO/ Director of Operations
Michael Fanesi is the CFO and Director of Operations for Preferred Health Magazine. With over 20 years of management experience, he also served as a Military Police Officer in the armed forces in Afghanistan post 9/11 during the "Enduring Freedom" tour.
Melissa Cassiliano
Columnist
Melissa Cassiliano is a writer and columnist known for her insightful perspectives on life, health, and beauty. With a degree in Communications from Rider University, Melissa also holds a teaching certificate and has made a lasting impact on young minds for 13 years until deciding to take time away, in order to care for her two children. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she found inspiration in her personal experiences and became a children's book author. Her upcoming book, set for a Fall 2024 release, celebrates the strength and resilience of individuals facing adversity, leaving readers with a profound sense of hope and empowerment, just as her columns do.
Dara Mormile

Dara Mormile is a freelance writer for Preferred Health Magazine, covering a wide variety of topics from mental health issues, to inspiring book reviews, to interviews with specialists that debunk health myths.
She began writing for PHM in 2021. Prior to delving into health reporting, she dedicated most of her journalism career, over 15 years, to local news as a staff writer for a community newspaper in Southeast Brooklyn, the Canarsie Courier. At this weekly publication, she also served as Associate Editor - delegating a newsroom with tight deadlines, connecting residents with resources and covering all aspects of community happenings/quality of life concerns in her hometown.
She graduated with her bachelors in Journalism from Brooklyn College, CUNY, in 2004 and currently resides in New Jersey.
Lauren Keating

Lauren Keating is a freelance writer who has been covering health, fitness, and nutrition for a decade.
Her work has been featured in Youth Runner Magazine, The Health Journal, RunnerClick.com, and Fit Nation Magazine. She started her career at Tech Times, covering Internet culture, health and wellness wearables and apps, and helped to launch Tech Times TV. Along with being a self-published children’s book author, she is a Youth Fitness Specialist (PT, ACE), and instructs exercise classes for toddlers. She graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A, in Journalism, with a specialization in health. Lauren lives in south New Jersey with her husband and two children.
Dominique Carson

Dominique M. Carson is truly a hardworking and ambitious professional. She received her Master of Science degree in Media Studies in September 2014. Carson also graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Italian in 2012. Carson has strong interviewing, writing, and reporting skills. She has many attributes in media including marketing and publicity, blogging, social media, entertainment journalism, news and feature writing, profiles, concert reviews, and conducting interviews. Carson interviewed more than 100 celebrities. In addition, she was also a Program and Communications Coordinator for Man Up! Inc, a non- profit organization in East New York. Outside of journalism, writing, non-profit, and customer service, Ms. Carson is also a licensed and nationally certified massage practitioner. Her overall goal is to "facilitate people's lives through her words and hands.
Rachel Sokol

Rachel Sokol is a NY-based writer and editor.
She's written for SHAPE, Reader's Digest, Health.com, Hispanic Career World, FIRST for Women, Blogilates, FamilyEducation, Univision, USA Today, and more. A former beauty editor and entertainment columnist, she's also worked in media relations for CUNY and contributes parenting articles for various websites. She studied journalism at Emerson College and in her spare time loves chilling out with her family, watching True Crime documentaries, and listening to showtunes.
Amanda Salazar

Experienced and award-winning student and professional journalist with a demonstrated history of working in reporting and editing. Skilled in news and feature writing; copy editing; Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro; Pro Tools; DataWrapper; and GitHub. Strong interest in community, environmental and political reporting. Pursuing a Masters in Journalism (MA) with a concentration in health & science reporting from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a double major in journalism & creative writing and political science, with a double minor in environmental sustainability and communications studies from Baruch College.
