Preferred Health Magazine spoke with the duo about their shared vision and blueprint for modern wellness.
PHM: Karli Health and Greyledge Technologies have positioned themselves at the forefront of regenerative and longevity innovation. What inspired the creation of both companies, and what gap in healthcare were you hoping to fill?
Dr. David Karli: Like many physicians, I began my career focused on helping patients recover from injury and disease. Over time, however, I became increasingly interested in a different challenge: how do we help people preserve health, function, and quality of life before significant decline occurs?
That question led to the creation of both Greyledge Technologies and Karli Health. Greyledge Technologies is a regenerative medicine biotechnology company focused on the development, optimization, and quality control of stem cell therapies and other regenerative treatments. When we founded the company in 2010, one of the biggest limitations in the field was the lack of meaningful measurement. Promising therapies existed, but there was very little information regarding cellular composition, treatment consistency, or long-term outcomes.
Over the past fifteen years, Greyledge has helped analyze thousands of regenerative medicine procedures while building one of the industry’s largest real-world cellular therapy databases. That experience has strengthened our confidence in the potential of regenerative medicine while reinforcing the importance of continuously improving how these therapies are measured, personalized, and delivered.
Karli Health Institute was created as the clinical extension of that vision. By integrating regenerative medicine, longevity medicine, advanced diagnostics, hormone optimization, performance medicine, and personalized wellness strategies, we help patients take a proactive approach to aging and long-term health.
Today, we’re building on that foundation. As donor-derived stem cell and cellular therapies become increasingly available, we’re applying the same evidence-building framework that guided our work with therapies derived from a patient’s own blood, bone marrow, and tissue. Our goal is simple: embrace innovation, respond to patient demand, and continuously generate the data needed to help patients and physicians make more informed decisions as this exciting field continues to evolve.
PHM: Longevity medicine has become one of the fastest-growing areas in healthcare. What do you believe people misunderstand most about living longer—and healthier?
Dr. Karli: One of the biggest misconceptions about longevity is that it’s simply about living longer. Most people aren’t looking for an extra ten or twenty years if those years are spent battling chronic disease, pain, frailty, or cognitive decline. What they’re really seeking is a longer health span - the number of years they remain active, independent, energetic, and fully engaged in life.
What makes this such an exciting time is that we’re witnessing the convergence of technologies that may fundamentally change how humanity experiences aging. Stem cell and cellular therapies, exosomes, therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), advanced hormone optimization, precision diagnostics, and biological age testing are creating opportunities that simply did not exist a decade ago.
At Karli Health and through our work at Greyledge, we’re not simply observing these developments - we’re helping advance them. By combining clinical experience, outcomes research, and real-world patient data, we’re working to better understand which therapies provide meaningful value, which patients are most likely to benefit, and how these innovations can be integrated responsibly into modern healthcare.
At the same time, no breakthrough therapy replaces the fundamentals. Exercise, maintaining muscle mass, quality sleep, proper nutrition, stress management, and metabolic health remain the foundation. The future of longevity medicine isn’t about choosing between healthy habits and advanced science; it’s about intelligently combining both to help people remain healthier, stronger, and more vibrant throughout their lives.
Zoe: As a woman, wife, and stepmother (yes, I still proudly claim the mother title), I’ve seen firsthand how the desire to stay vibrant isn’t just about adding years — it’s about protecting the energy to chase kiddos, build a career, nurture a marriage, and still feel like yourself well into your later decades. I think many women especially underestimate how much hormonal balance, recovery, and inflammation control influence that daily quality of life, not just disease prevention. When we blend the best of emerging therapies with the non-negotiable daily habits, we’re not chasing immortality — we’re giving ourselves and our families more beautiful, capable, present years together.
PHM: Your work focuses heavily on regenerative and performance medicine. How are therapies like PRP, biologics, and personalized wellness protocols changing the future of aging?
Dr. Karli: For generations, medicine largely focused on managing the consequences of aging after they appeared. Regenerative medicine represents one of the first serious attempts to restore biology rather than simply manage decline.
Therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), stem cell therapies, and other cellular treatments are being used to support tissue repair, reduce inflammation, restore function, and help people remain active as they age. While these therapies are not a cure-all, they represent an important shift toward helping the body heal itself rather than simply masking symptoms.
Many of these concepts were first embraced by elite athletes seeking to accelerate recovery and maintain peak performance. Today, we’re applying those same principles to help everyday individuals preserve mobility, strength, resilience, and quality of life as they age. In many ways, performance medicine and longevity medicine are becoming increasingly interconnected.
My perspective has been shaped by nearly two decades of clinical experience treating thousands of patients. Through Greyledge, we’ve also tracked outcomes from thousands of regenerative medicine procedures, creating one of the largest real-world regenerative medicine databases in the industry. That experience has reinforced our belief that regenerative medicine is most effective when it is personalized. We already customize treatments based on a patient’s condition, goals, health status, and the specific biologic therapy being utilized. The next frontier is using large-scale clinical data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to progressively improve precision, predictability, and outcomes.
The future of healthy aging isn’t about a single breakthrough therapy. It’s about intelligently combining regenerative medicine, personalized healthcare, advanced diagnostics, and lifestyle optimization to help people maintain function, performance, and independence for as long as possible.
PHM: There is increasing discussion around cellular rejuvenation and age reversal. How close is science to truly slowing—or even reversing—aspects of the aging process?
Dr. Karli: This is one of the most exciting and often misunderstood areas of medicine today. For the first time in history, we can begin measuring biological age and tracking whether specific interventions are influencing aspects of the aging process itself.
Biological age testing, epigenetic analysis, advanced imaging, and other diagnostic technologies are allowing us to look far beyond chronological age and better understand how the body is functioning at the cellular and tissue level. Early evidence suggests that interventions such as exercise, nutrition, hormone optimization, regenerative medicine, stem cell and cellular therapies, and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) may positively influence some biological aging markers.
What makes this particularly exciting is the convergence of multiple technologies. Stem cells, exosomes, gene therapies, cellular reprogramming, and artificial intelligence are all advancing rapidly. AI is already helping researchers and clinicians analyze complex biological datasets in ways that would have been impossible just a few years ago, dramatically accelerating the pace of discovery.
While many of these technologies remain under active investigation, the trajectory is becoming increasingly clear. Aging is no longer viewed as a completely fixed biological process. We are entering an era where aspects of aging are becoming measurable, increasingly understandable, and potentially modifiable over time.
PHM: You’ve worked with high-performing individuals, athletes, and wellness-conscious patients. Are there common lifestyle habits you consistently see among people who age well?
Dr. Karli: One of the most consistent patterns I see among people who age well is that they don’t surrender to aging. They recognize that some aspects of aging are inevitable, but they actively work to influence the aspects that are modifiable.
They tend to be proactive rather than reactive. They monitor key health metrics, maintain healthy body composition, and address problems early, whether that’s declining fitness, metabolic health, hormone changes, or orthopedic issues that could eventually lead to pain, inactivity, and loss of function.
The most successful individuals view health as a partnership. They combine personal responsibility, healthy habits, and a positive mindset with modern healthcare resources such as advanced diagnostics, biological age testing, regenerative medicine, and personalized treatment strategies. They don’t wait for disease to dictate their future - they actively participate in shaping it.
Zoe: David has this incredible ability to prescribe and medically influence real change in people’s lives — he’s damn good at it, and people actively seek him out for that talent. From my side, I’ve watched it play out so clearly in the women and families around me.
The ones who put themselves last, thinking they’re being strong for everyone else, eventually have to scramble to catch up — and it’s so much harder. But the ones who choose to build their own temple on a strong foundation first? They become the most radiant, present, and inspiring examples for their kids, their families, and everyone watching.
Woman to woman — there’s something deeply powerful about a woman who decides to age well, not just for herself, but so she can keep pouring into the people she loves from a full, vibrant cup.
PHM: Looking ahead, what innovations in regenerative medicine and longevity science are you most excited about—and how do you see them transforming healthcare over the next decade?
Dr. Karli: What excites me most is not any single technology, but the integration of technologies that is already occurring today. Biological age testing, artificial intelligence, regenerative medicine, stem cell and cellular therapies, advanced imaging, precision diagnostics, and longevity medicine are increasingly being combined to create a more personalized approach to healthcare.
At Greyledge and Karli Health, we’re helping build that future by measuring outcomes, tracking biological changes, and continuously refining our understanding of what works, for whom, and under what circumstances. The next major leap forward will come from our ability to assimilate increasingly large and complex datasets and transform that information into more precise, predictable, and personalized interventions.
I believe we’ll continue to see advances in both patient-derived and donor-derived cellular therapies, increasingly sophisticated biologic technologies, and eventually the integration of gene-based and cellular approaches that may allow us to influence aging and disease in ways that were once considered science fiction.
As our ability to preserve health, function, and vitality continues to improve, we are already beginning to rethink traditional assumptions about aging, productivity, performance, retirement, and human potential.
The technologies are here today. What will continue to evolve is our ability to integrate them more intelligently, apply them more precisely, and unlock their full potential for humanity.
