ASK THE LIFE COACH/THERAPIST >>>>>>>>>>>>
Your signature message, “Redemption Song,” resonates deeply with themes of healing and hope. What pivotal moment in your own life most shaped this message, and how do you see it transforming the lives of those you serve?
My signature message, “Redemption Song,” was birthed from one of the most painful seasons of my life—the moment I lost everything to a hurricane in 1999, including getting divorced after 13 years of marriage. What felt like devastation at the time became the soil where God planted seeds of renewal, resilience, and purpose. I discovered that redemption is not about erasing the pain, but allowing God to transform it into hope, healing, and a new beginning.
This message now flows into everything I do—whether I am coaching women who feel stuck after loss, empowering female leaders to rise into their God-given calling or speaking life into couples struggling to reconnect. When people hear “Redemption Song,” they are reminded that no matter how broken the melody of their life may seem, God can rewrite it into a symphony of wholeness, strength, and hope. It is a reminder that your story is not over—the best is yet to come.
You’ve worn many hats—fashion industry professional, counselor, professor, author, and global speaker. Looking back, how did each chapter of your journey prepare you for your current mission of inspiring wholeness and restoration?
Every chapter of my journey has been part of a divine preparation for the work I do today. In the fashion industry,
I have learned creativity, discipline, and the power of presentation—how what we wear can reflect and even reshape how we see ourselves. As a counselor, I have gained the tools to walk with people through their valleys, helping them confront pain, loss, and brokenness with compassion and wisdom. My years as a professor has taught me to educate, empower, and equip others with practical knowledge while nurturing confidence in their own abilities.
As an author, I have discovered the power of storytelling—how our words can unlock healing and give voice to experiences that others may be too afraid to articulate. And as a global speaker, I have seen firsthand the universality of hope: no matter the culture or background, people everywhere long for restoration.
Each role was not a detour, but a steppingstone, equipping me to inspire wholeness and restoration. Today, I stand at the intersection of creativity, wisdom, and faith, using my voice and experiences to remind others that every chapter—no matter how difficult—can prepare us for a greater mission.
As someone who coaches leaders, couples, and women of faith, what is one piece of advice you would give to someone who feels broken or stuck, but is longing to “pick up the pieces and become whole”?
The first step I would share is this: wholeness begins when you stop seeing yourself as broken beyond repair. Feeling stuck or shattered doesn’t mean your story is over—it means God is inviting you into a new chapter. Just as a mosaic is made of broken pieces arranged into something beautiful, your life can be reassembled with even greater purpose.
I encourage anyone in that place to pause, breathe, and surrender the fragments to God. Don’t try to put the pieces back together in your own strength. Instead, invite Him to realign your vision, restore your hope, and remind you of your worth. Surround yourself with mentors, community, or coaches who can speak life into you during the rebuilding process. Wholeness isn’t about perfection; it’s about embracing restoration. You are not defined by what broke you—you are defined by the One who can make you whole again.
